Links 2025-06
A list of links to things I liked & shared with friends this month:
You’re probably using the wrong dictionary
- Zach recommended this essay after learning that my blog name is from the dictionary. TIL Webster wrote the dictionary by himself.
-
- Never have I seen my implicit biases surface more than when I started reading anonymous blogs. (My favorite bias is survivor bias.)
Stuck in Time: Intersex and Transgender Representation in Predestination
- After watching Predestination, I went romping through the internet in search of: the short story it was based on, opinions from intersex and trans people on the portrayal of the protagonist, who Christine Jorgenson and Roberta Cowell were, and so on. I read this essay along the way and appreciated it.
-
- The Egg by Andy Weir is one of my favorite short stories,1 and I was delighted to encounter it again in Jenn's musings on no-fault divorce and the vice president.
AI Slop: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
- I mourn.
