New emergency drinking water

It's July 3 — E refilled our potable water containers.1 "Since we are in fire and earthquake country, it's better to have some supplies," he said. He updated the sticky notes on top of our containers with the new date.

Four containers of potable water with handwritten sticky notes on top: July 03 2025, chlorine-treated tap water

(Our new emergency drinking water, with Calliope's butt for scale. She likes to be where things are happening.)

E: I should practice writing more. My handwriting is atrocious.

S: I think it's beautiful.

E: That's only because you like quirky things.

  1. E followed the CDC's instructions for how to create an emergency water supply, adding bleach to disinfect. These containers are kept in our garage, alongside a few cases of water bottles we picked up from Costco and a printout of "Make Water Safe During an Emergency."
