Oatmeal cookies recipe
A recipe I found online. The original recipe was written by AverieCooks.
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- .5 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, very soft
- .5 cup light brown sugar, packed
- .25 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups old-fashioned whole rolled oats (not instant or quick cook)
- .75 cup all-purpose flour
- .5 teaspoon baking soda
- .5 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1 cup raisins, crushed nuts, anything you want
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F, line a baking sheet
- Mix for 90 seconds until smooth: egg, butter, sugars, vanilla
- Add oats, flour, baking soda, salt, and stir to combine
- Add raisins, crushed nuts, etc. and stir to combine
- Form 2-tablespoon mounds and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart
- Bake for 10-13 minutes (short for super soft cookies, longer for more well-done cookies)
- Cool cookies on baking sheet for 10 minutes before serving
