Happenings

• Had wagyu shabu-shabu for our Thanksgiving family meal¹ & it was delicious. The mom then gifted us boxes of cheese rolls, potato balls, a mango mousse cake, and Taiwanese side dishes. This is all we've been eating for days now.

• I somehow strained a shoulder blade muscle & it was super painful to move, so I spent most of Wednesday & Thursday in bed sleeping. Then I couldn't take it anymore and found a video, The shoulder blade pain muscle (how to release it for instant relief). The stretches actually helped. I was able to move again with minimal pain.

• Ordered new Delsey carry-on spinners while the sales are happening. My last Delsey carry-on served us well for ~10 years, but it was time for a replacement. (The plastic handle has been sticky & the shell cracked earlier this year.)

• Received a deep tissue & hot stone massage earlier today. It addressed the residual stiffness & pain in my neck & shoulders. The massage was heavenly. I am a brand new person. 🌸

• Gave up on the American Standard tub spout & ordered a Delta one to replace it. It arrived today. Haven't opened the package to confirm it's the right product yet... will check later.

Listening, reading, watching

• Know My Name by Chanel Miller

• The Story of Pearl Girl — Sometimes I'm interested in mainland Chinese stories, but I typically don't enjoy them because of their dubbing, pacing, and sentimentality (so, so many glorious, sacrificial, slow-motion deaths). I was curious enough about this story to give it a try anyway.

Tinkering

• Regained access to my XMPP account from ~10 years ago. I tried all the Windows chat clients. Didn't love any of the available apps (and frankly, couldn't access or run most of them). It looks like the options for Linux & Mac are better. 😔

• Our custom emojis are in Mattermost now & it feels like our space again. It's working well. I think we're here to stay.
