Happenings
My work laptop updated to Windows 11 and henceforth proceeded to blue screen to death hourly. I requested a new (expedited) laptop, noting in the ticket, "This situation is untenable." I like this word, untenable.
I learned a new word: cloture. The same way I learned what a bathtub overflow drain is. If things worked properly, I wouldn't know these words.
We've been eating hot dogs this week, and E (unintentionally) handed me a cold hot dog. I took one bite and spit it out. This is the worst thing he has ever done to me. (He said the worst thing I've done to him is accidentally wash his mobile phone with the laundry.)
Tinkering
Customized the CSS on my Miniflux feed reader. It's cute! See how it looks on my desktop (screenshot) and mobile (screenshot).
Per the note in the Tech Independence relayd.conf file, I tested my security headers. My scan came back with an A grade, but I saw that A+ was possible. So naturally, I spent more time than intended reading related documentation to achieve an A+ grade.
I set up Syncthing on OpenBSD! I used ChatGPT to explain some things, but it wasn't very accurate. Which reminds me of this new study:1 "AI can synthesize ideas, enhance reasoning, and encourage critical engagement, pushing us to see beyond the obvious and challenge our assumptions ... [U]sers need to treat AI as a thought partner, not just a tool for finding information faster."
I applied a custom domain to my Bearblog. squeeeee\o/
Gaming, listening
Don't Starve Together — I didn't think I'd like this game, but it turns out that I really do. My contribution to the group: full-time gardening.
