Happenings
My century-old marriage ring is gone — my favorite piece of jewelry, passed from woman to woman for generations until I received it and lost it. I hope it's not gone forever. 🙁
Getting the home back to what it was before the renovation continues to be a slow motion endeavor. This weekend was rather productive: the books are back on their shelves; the rugs are out again; and floating documents are neatly filed away.
My sister left a few items in my home a year ago & asked to have them back. I could not, for the life of me, find them. Well, they turned up stored in my closet. I put them there for safekeeping; they were so safe they eluded even me.
So it turns out I really like cinnamon.
Despite months of playing with the string, the cats remain enamored. Calliope especially has become very vocal — unceasingly so until the string is given to her.
Watching
- A friend sent me Josh Johnson's Adolescence Is #1 on Netflix—and It’s Got the Manosphere Shook, which led me to watch Adolescence the next day. "Who taught you to hate yourself?" Oof.
Tinkering
Me, looking into designing a bar for my UI, reading forum posts from seven years ago:
Well. Egg on my face. Add i3pystatus AND py3status to the list.
I've only used py3status and i3status but I like py3status a lot so far.
As an aside, I think I need to start an i3py3status project to make this more confusing.
(My brain decided that it had had enough and I went to bed.)
It's been a fun week of playing with EndeavourOS, trying new apps, and customizing the UI design. Because my laptop's screen is lower res, a lot of the more modern icons and fonts look blurry on it. Imagine my glee to discover pixel fonts look great and I can easily turn off anti-aliasing. 🎈
I've made some minor mods to a GTK theme (CSS, yay), but may revisit later and mod the Sass files. Not trying to get lost in this at the moment. 🙃
